Introducing Anne Scagell

 

Anne trained at The Edinburgh College of Domestic Science and after graduating worked with Scottish Power as a Home Economist. She then lectured at Catering Colleges in Glasgow and Ayr. Anne also did Quality Awareness Training for staff at Turnberry Hotel in Ayrshire and before setting up her own Company, she owned and managed a Private Hotel in Prestwick where she gained a 4 Star Scottish Tourist Board Grading and a 4 Diamond AA Rating. The Hotel featured in the AA Britain’s Best Guide of Guest Houses, Inns and other interesting places to stay.

Anne has worked as an International Home Economist since 1984, initially for Hudsons International in Japan where Hudsons won an Export Achievement Award. Her freelance work has involved participation at various British Fairs and major promotions in department stores in Tokyo and other main cities throughout Japan and also in Taiwan.

Anne’s most recent work has been lecture tours on the History of Afternoon Tea in Japan, Taiwan, America, Italy, England, Scotland and China, also Baking Seminars at Meidya Cooking School in Tokyo and Tsuji Cooking School in Osaka. Anne has also been a Judge at the Cookery and Food Association Scottish Salon Culinaire.
